1. Golden Princess Review Alaska Cruise
Golden Princess Review
  • Golden Princess is a large ship, carrying 2590 passengers and 1116 crew, with a Tonnage: 108,865 compared to Diamond Princess at 115,875 – so Golden is just a tad smaller than Diamond. Golden will sail primarily itineraries from Melbourne, and from Auckland, New Zealand.
  • Pacific Adventure cabins review The Golden Princess (Pacific Adventure) ship has a total of 1316 staterooms, including 736 cabins with balconies (78% of all the 950 outside rooms). Wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) are 26 (of which 1 window suite, 12 balconies, 4 outsides, 9 insides).

Ship Review: Our 'VISTA' SUITE was very disappointing. There is an OBSTRUCTED 'VISTA' which our agent did not tell us about. (Nor does the Princess web site indicate.) The layout is awkward, the verandah very small and dificult to navigate becase of a large steel support beam. The bathroom is poorly designed, at best; poor lighting (difficult to see your face when shaving) with absolutely NO SHELVING or storage space, even though there is pleanty of room for these important items. Had we known this we would NOT have booked this suite. And whose idea was it to place the LIBRARY and INTERNET CAFE right next to the extremely noisy PIAZZA? Every venue throughout the ship is overly amplified; does Princess think we are all hard of hearing? Food just OK, excellent service. We had to request fresh flowers and fruit when they should have been provided for us. Although Princess is our cruise line of choice, we cannot recommend this ship.

Golden Princess Review Alaska Cruise

Destination New Zealand's Not Listed Despite all the negativity Princess Cruises is receiving, I am very pleased to say that we had a most enjoyable time aboard The Golden Princess. The captain and staff were outstanding in maintaining high standards of friendliness, efficiency, hygiene and enthusiasm to keep all. Golden Princess is due for a refurbishment. Common areas aren’t bad but the cabins need work. The fun part about this ship’s configuration is that there are two separate areas for shows.
